ACUW Appoints new Executive Director

Susan Bull was recently appointed as Executive Director of Allegany County United Way. Susan has resided in Allegany County for twenty years, currently living in Andover with her husband Rick and their children. Susan is a Veteran of the United States Army and attributes her five years of military training and leadership development as the foundation that prepared her for a twenty-year career as a servant leader in the non-profit sector. Most recently working as a consultant to non-profit organizations, Susan has also held the positions of Director of Children’s Ministries at His Tabernacle Family Church in Horseheads, Executive Director of Ready, Set, Grow Child Care Center in Corning, and the Director of Child Care Services at ACCORD Corporation.  Susan comments, “I recently read, ‘The strength of a nation is in direct proportion to the strength of its families’, to which I strongly agree and look forward to leading the United Way’s work in strengthening our families here in Allegany County.””Allegany County United Way has a sixty- year history as a trustworthy steward of resources, meeting the most critical needs in the county, significantly impacting a large number of residents with its work.“ Susan continues, “It is an honor to serve this organization as it continues its mission to inspire hope and make a difference.”
